Happy New Year to all our supporters! Sorry for the delay in updating this site but I hope to keep it more updated from now on (famous last words I know).
Butchers selling fox meat
Firstly, remember that butchers in Gravesend in Kent, who were alleging to sell real fox meat? Well after a call from Fox Watch, they claimed that the story was ‘an April Fools joke…interesting considering the story was published on the 15th April - which makes them the fools! We were also told to ‘get a life’ by a very aggressive man on the other end of the line, who I assume had more than one phone call already about the sale of fox meat.
Peterculter Golf Club
Not much as changed with the Peterculter Golf Club I’m afraid. They seem to be quite content with allowing an animal abuser to be a member of their club and are not ashamed that the public know either. There is one avenue we explored, which was the fact that Donald Forbes was described as an ‘oil tycoon’ and a lot of the ‘sponsors’ of the Peterculter Golf Club are in fact *drum roll* oil companies. Could this be a coincidence, or is Peterculter keeping Forbes on thanks to money? I’ll let you make up your own mind…but money obviously talks and means more to this golf club than the welfare of our wildlife.
Future of Fox Watch
I want to expand Fox Watch and make it a more recognisable organisation as it’s very small at the moment and only comes up on Google on page 4! I’ve changed web address from www.fox-watch.info to www.foxwatch.org.uk and will be contacting directories to get it updated/published there so hopefully that will boost viewing figures. Would like to get posters made and printed for stalls, some glossy leaflets, and business cards. If anyone would like to become more involved with fox watch then please contact us!
Foxy Rehab
Fox Watch is a big fan of this page - which follows the lives of rehabilitated foxes in the back garden of a rehaber. There’s some nice footage there and its a nice site to go to to view foxes if you aren’t lucky enough to have any in your garden! Check it out!
